I've seen the Radeon HD 6770.
I've also heard about another one (with three digits). I don't know much about graphics cards. What is the best for a personal computer with emphasis on running games. (Not running simulations (I've seen ones for companies and science that run for thousands and thousands of dollars... no))

NViDIA 660, 670, or 680. Theyr'e all amazing cards, run anything you throw at them, but the 660 is cheaper and the 680 is more expensive.

If you're willing to spend $400 on a GPU, get a Nvidia GTX 670. Chances are you'll need a good processor and motherboard though. If you're lookign for cheaper, there's the 7870 which is also a great card.

If you have a bit of extra money, then you should invest in slightly better GPU.

the difference between the 660, 670, and 680 are a variety of things clock speeds, memory, etc. as well as price.
i'd personally go with a 680 over a 690, they have better clock speeds rather than 4gb memory

Basically, it comes down to how much money you are willing to spend, but there is a point where you really don't need it. If you have a spare thousand dollars, buy a 690.
Also, 660? It doesn't exist yet.

In all honesty I would not buy a 690 over a 680 If anything, the 680 is better than the 690, and it's definitely better in SLI than the 690 is alone (though I believe the 690 CAN do SLI, just quad SLI and that's for some pretty heavy other things, not gaming really) If you had sense, you'd get a 680 over a 690 unless you were either an enthusiast or doing it for a mod rigs competition (in which case you'd be doing quad Signature 690s)
