No, the 680's are definitely NOT better at SLI than the single 690.

Take a look at actual performance sometimes.

Take a look at actual performance sometimes. It's honestly like you don't even read. higher clocks = better performance. two 680s in SLI will beat a single 690, hands down, there is no contest.

But I don't want two GPUs. I want one. You'd end up spending a ton of money on two 680s anyways.
Also, using multiple GPUs doesn't double the performance. The second GPU doesn't even have near as much impact as the first does.

Both are hella expensive, go with a 670 or 80 if you can. it's not like a 690 is $1000 or anything, and the 680 is $500 at most.

Clock speed is a performance aspect, as far as I know. So it would count as performance, just saying.

the fact that it's a difference of not even a frame or two per second is also something you can put off - because I haven't mentioned the fact of overclocking. Because you realize the more you have it clocked, the less stable it can be. I'm not going to argue with you any more, because the difference is very minute in power and that's pretty situational as well. I advise you to do the same. also um 'performance =/= clock speed' you realize that your clock speeds and vram ENTIRELY effects the performance right??
